“I don’t usually make recommendations regarding the services people provide. Christopher at CAN Therapeutics is an exceptional therapist! He was recommended to me by a very discerning friend who has seen multiple people over 20 years in Ashland and said Christopher was excellent. Having received 15 treatments from him i’m consistently impressed with his skill, abilities, knowledge, sensitivity and skilled professional approach to the bodywork he offers. I recommended him to 3 other people who have various chronic and injury related issues. Each of those people thanked me profusely and only gave praise and thanks for what he was able to do for them. If you want some serious bodywork done I most highly recommend Christopher.”

The Work at CAN Therapeutics Massage Clinic:

“Energy gets stuck in muscle tension. Literally. I find the blockages in the tissue and together, we find the perfect tolerable depth of pressure to release knotted up energy and get you moving better, living better and with less pain. Chronic muscle tension is like damns in your internal river. We look for those damns deep in the muscles and progressively open them.

Someone is lying on the table and their muscles are as tight as if they were climbing Mount Everest with a 200lb backpack. Why?! They are just lying on the table not doing anything! Explain that to me…well, the brain actually controls the muscles, consciously or unconsciously, and has the muscles so tight from habit over time that chronic tension has become the norm! Oh no! It’s too common. And it’s literally a surprise to the person that their muscles are so tight. The fact that this amount of tension has become so normal and constant becomes a serious problem. And sadly almost no one addresses this destructive phenomenon in the health field. Muscles are our Movers. They move our bones. They move our bodies. They house our internal rivers of energy. It’s super important that they are able to be open and working efficiently, able to contract AND relax fully. We want them as supple and as active as a Jaguar, not so tight that we feel like a tin man or woman.

We forget what it feels like to be pain and tension free. Few practitioners do the work to release and reset the whole functional muscular system at the depth level.  So no one knows that this kind of relief is available to them. Clients who have seen every therapist and modality under the sun are grateful someone is finally getting to the root of their problems. It requires work and communication to do it right. It’s like melting glaciers so that the rivers ( your energy) can flow again. But we can really open decades of tension in a just a few sessions.  This is what we do to make it so you don’t have to live trapped in chronic patterns of muscular tension.  I help reset and maintain my clients with massage and bodywork. I also want you to feel empowered to manage your muscular pain efficiently and effectively everyday. That’s where movement education comes in and I teach the best functional movements I have come across to support you feeling more supple and pain and tension free for the rest of your life.

“Over the last 35 years I’ve had all kinds of bodywork done (from Acupuncture to Rolfing) literally all over the world. At this point I’ve had three 90 minute deep tissue sessions with Christopher here in Ashland, Oregon and for this type of work I’ve had none better, anywhere.”

I had been looking for deep tissue/therapeutic massage in the area but I had never found anyone that could really dig into my muscles until I came across Christopher at CAN Therapeutics. I have a 10 year old muscle injury and Christopher is the only person who has been able to make progress in rehabilitating it. His massages are very intense but sometimes that’s what you need when you have years of built up tension.” -Joseph Pfister

“I had Chris give me a full body massage four days ago and I feel better than I have felt in years. The session did much more than merely relieve the stress (I have a high-stress occupation) and resolve the litany of routine aches and pains of my 59-year-old, desk-bound body. Both my posture and balance feel improved. My gait is more solid and stable. I can recommend Chris without reservation.”

Mark L. Mosley

“Beyond your first impression of his physical radiance, you will discover his kindness, his caring, and his ability to find in you, the places in need of his healing work.”

Albert Meyer

I have been dealing with low back and hip issues for YEARS that have had me waking up several times a night in terrible pain, and I’m only 33! After only 3 sessions with Christopher, I was sleeping through the night without pain. He seems to have a gift for solving unsolvable issues! You can really feel how much Christopher genuinely cares about his clients. He told me, if this issue is muscular, I will find it. What a relief! Someone who is confident but also really knows what he is doing! He is very skilled, talented, and smart! And the environment at his office is very clean and welcoming, professional and also warm and personal. Do yourself a favor and book an appointment at CAN Therapeutics. You will not be disappointed.”
